Adventure Cruise Holiday Club! – Day 4 + Finale!

Unfortunately, it was HMS Whitton’s last crusade today, but before we hung up our sailors hats and eye patches, there was one more sea to venture across. With the C’s of Choice, Courage and Call conquered earlier in the week, the final C to venture across was the C of Change.

Despite us sailing the sea of Change today, it was much the same to begin with! John gave us his final introductory segment of the week, with a bumper sing-a-long of all three memory verses from the week. Afterwards, Charlie the monkey of course had to come onto the stage to say his farewells to the children. But today, Charlie was very very upset about something. On the way to play in the final with his football team, his Dad missed the turning! And it wasn’t until Charlie pleaded with him, that he realised he was on the wrong road and had to turn around and change direction!

Next up, we learnt our very final Bible bopping memory verse and dived straight in to the bible story from Luke chapter 19. Today, John told us the story of a wicked tax collector, named Zacchaeus, who cheated his way through life taking money from innocent people. But one day, when Jesus was passing through and insisted to stay at Zacchaeus’ house, he realised all the wrong he had done and offered half his possessions to the poor and pay back anyone he has cheated out of money four time over! A real change in heart from him. Then, the saga deepened in the Watt family drama, with the pirate’s now in possession of not only Grandma, but the Captain’s extra special briefcase as well! How are the Watt’s ever going to get the, selves out of this one?

Now, it was time for the final activity time of the week. In the craft, there was plenty of fun, with each child making their own fishing game with magnets, sticks and paper clips! In the games, we played a musical chairs style game, but with the children having to swim around the room and find an island to stand on when the music stopped! And of course there was group time, to recover a bit of energy for the final part of holiday club 2014!

And it was almost time to put our anchor down for one last time, but before we did there was just time for some more songs from the
music team and a recap of all the memory verses learnt this week. Also, one last quiz of the week was the teams last chance to get as many points as possible for their teams. But then, it was time for the big finale, as the parents and relatives joined us for the last part of our adventure. Here the children had a chance to show everybody the songs that they had learnt and of course, we had to see the last part in the Watt family drama. Naturally, the Watt’s were the heroes once more as the pirates were captured, the briefcase was returned to the Captain and most of all Grandma was safe!

Wow, we made it in our spectacular voyage across the 4 C’s. Choice, Courage, Call and Change all conquered over the course of our adventure and we all had a great time! Have a look below for a roundup of what we have been up to this week and if you want to know about some of the other groups we put on have a look at the What We Do page.
