As a church we spent last weekend, 1st-3rd September, away at Sizewell Hall just up the Suffolk coast. We had a fantastic time seeking God, spending time with each other and enjoying the picturesque setting of Sizewell. Simon Ladd was our visiting speaker for the weekend and he spoke to us about change and transformation, which many people found a huge encouragement.
Below is just a few pictures from the weekend, you can see more on our Facebook page.
On Saturday 8th July, we are hosting an open church community day in the afternoon. This is an opportunity for the community surrounding the church to come together for a fun afternoon. It’s also an opportunity to have a look at our completed refurbishments if you haven’t already seen them! Pop in any time between 1pm & 4pm and enjoy a cream tea, look around and hopefully some sunshine!

We recently received an update from 2 of the missionaries we support, Ronald & Irma. They are a couple currently serving the Lord out in Cape Town, South Africa. Ron teaches at 2 Bible schools in and around Cape Town, offering “practical training and discipleship in a format that is simple to follow by all”. The Bible schools have been set up in the middle of the communities they serve. The trainee pastors commit to 18 months of study, but continue to live and work alongside their congregations.
A full update is available on Serving In Mission’s website here.
Key prayer points for Ronald & Irma
For the students attending these Bible schools, that they will grow in Biblical knowledge and love for the Lord and that this in turn will inspire their congregations.
That the students will recognise the value of the training that they are receiving and in turn recommend it to others
For the students that Ron has identified as potential teachers of the future, please pray for protection as they grow into the roles for which the Lord has prepared them.
That the townships where the schools are established will invest in these schools so that they are sustainable, releasing Ron and his colleagues to set up more discipleship schools in the region.
