What We Do
Services
What to expect? Our services last for about 1¼ to 1½ hours. During that time we sing, pray, and most of all listen as the Bible is read and explained. We try to explain everything that happens so hopefully it won’t be too bewildering if you’re not used to church. Don’t worry, you won’t be asked to do anything embarrassing – we promise!
Twice a month, we share communion together. This is a special time for those who love and trust Jesus as their saviour. If you’re not quite sure where you stand on that one, we encourage you to sit and watch, but not to actually participate in that part of our service.
A supervised crèche is available for babies & toddlers up to 3yrs. We also have Sunday School groups for ages 3-14. These groups leave partway through the service and all children are welcome to join them.
Children & Youth
Most of our groups only run during term time so check the church calendar to see what’s going on this week!
Tuesday Tots is from 9:30-11:30 at the church. It’s for newborns to 4 year-olds and their carers. It’s a friendly group with toys, crafts, singing, snack time and a lot of fun! 70p per week. Email Wendy for more information.
Friday Club is for KS1 children. We meet every other Friday (6pm-7pm) during term time. We do lots of activities with the children including crafts, quizzes, cooking, games, snacks, drama and Bible stories. 50p per week. Email Wendy for more information.
ASK is our After-School Klub, run at Whitton Primary School, for KS2 children. We do crafts, board games, cooking, Wii, outdoor games and the occasional party! Wednesdays in term time 3:15-5pm. £1.50 per week. Email Julia for more information.
Girls’ Brigade has been part of our church for more years than we can remember! It’s for girls age 4+ and involves singing, crafts, games and badge-work. We meet every Monday (6:30pm-7:30pm) during term time. Find out more on the Girls’ Brigade website or Email Julia for more information.
CYG is for KS3 & KS4 teens. There’s a Wii, tuck shop, music, games etc. Sometimes there’s an outing to Laser Quest, bowling, or to the beach. We’ve even been known to go on camp together for a weekend! We meet every other Thursday (6pm-7pm) during term time. 50p per week. Check the church calendar for dates. Christianity Explored
Christianity Explored is an informal course for people who’d like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus is, what his aims are, and what it means to follow him.
You won’t be asked to pray, sing or read aloud, and you can ask any questions you like. Or, if you prefer, you can just come along and listen. Christianity Explored has been around for over a decade now, and it’s been designed to suit different age ranges and people.
We regularly run the Christianity Explored course at our church.
